    Study programme

    The accredited dual study programme, with a focus on business management, begins on 1 October or 1 April and takes three years to complete. The theory and practical phases of the course alternate and are closely interconnected.

    The German financial system has weathered the exceptionally strong rise in interest rates well overall and has proved stable over the past months, the Bundesbank writes in its Financial Stability Review 2024. Credit risk is now increasingly coming under the spotlight, however. The financial system is facing acute challenges due to geopolitical tensions and a weak economy. The economy is also undergoing transformation, said Bundesbank Executive Board member Michael Theurer. Our top priority must be a resilient financial system.

    At the end of July, a delegation led by the Governor of the Bank of Namibia visited the Bundesbank’s University of Applied Sciences in Hachenburg. Discussion focused on topics relating to the current interest rate policy of the European Central Bank and European banking supervision.

  • Vatican financial supervisors visit the university

    The Holy See conducts its financial business through its own financial institution, the Istituto per le Opere di Religione (a.k.a. the IOR) – and because the Vatican has a financial institution, it also has a financial supervisory authority.  From 24 to 26 April 2023, a senior delegation from ASIF, the financial supervisory authority of Vatican City, visited the university for an exchange of knowledge and experience.

  • High-level Vietnamese delegation visits Hachenburg: Vice-President learns about study programme on offer at the Bundesbank’s University

    A delegation from the State Bank of Vietnam visited the Bundesbank’s University of Applied Sciences in Hachenburg on 14 April 2023. The visit centred on the educational and methodological design of the “Central banking” dual study programme and how digitalisation and sustainability are being integrated into the course.
