    Study programme

    The accredited dual study programme, with a focus on business management, begins on 1 October or 1 April and takes three years to complete. The theory and practical phases of the course alternate and are closely interconnected.

    There are 18 full-time academic staff and more than 130 visiting lecturers teaching at the Bundesbank’s University of Applied Sciences. They are coordinated by the teams of the Teaching and Studies section.

    The Bundesbank’s University of Applied Sciences in Hachenburg and the University of Toulon have signed a partnership agreement. To mark the occasion, Hachenburg’s Rector Erich Keller and his deputy Andreas Kremer visited their partner institution in France in mid-March of 2024.

    The Bundesbank has a total of around 11,000 employees, distributed across its branches, regional offices and Central Office. Given the various tasks carried out by the Bundesbank, people’s day-to-day lives at work often differ greatly. On Monday, 19 February 2024, the students and teaching staff of the Bundesbank’s University of Applied Sciences were treated to a glimpse into the President’s schedule – and very much enjoyed the visit from Joachim Nagel.

  • German-Chinese partnership extended

    The universities of the Bundesbank and the Chinese central bank have maintained a partnership for more than two decades. In November, this was extended again until 2025. Rector Erich Keller signed the agreement with the People’s Bank of China School of Finance in Beijing.

    In September, a team of professors from the University of Toulon visited the Bundesbank’s University of Applied Sciences in Hachenburg. They discussed future cooperation activities and exchange opportunities for students.

  • Governor of the Bank of Namibia visits Hachenburg

    At the end of July, a delegation led by the Governor of the Bank of Namibia visited the Bundesbank’s University of Applied Sciences in Hachenburg. Discussion focused on topics relating to the current interest rate policy of the European Central Bank and European banking supervision.

  • “Seeing how the Bundesbank does it” – the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas visits the University

    A four-person delegation from the Central Bank of the Philippines in Manila visited the University of Applied Sciences on 17 May 2023. The guests, all staff members from the central bank’s human resources department, were particularly interested in the question of how the Bundesbank recruits its new staff.

    “Isn’t that...?” When an unannounced guest entered the audience in the middle of a lecture on Central Banking and the Conduct of Monetary Policy, the roughly 60 students in the advanced study course at the Bundesbank’s University of Applied Sciences in Hachenburg could not believe their eyes.
