    Study programme

    The accredited dual study programme, with a focus on business management, begins on 1 October or 1 April and takes three years to complete. The theory and practical phases of the course alternate and are closely interconnected.

  • European Study Tour and Internship Programme: Hachenburg plays host to Canadian students

    Canadian students recently visited the Bundesbank’s University of Applied Sciences in Hachenburg as part of a tour of various European institutions. As well as discussing current European issues, they had the chance to take part in a workshop simulating a meeting of the ECB Governing Council.

    Young Tai Kim, head of the Bank of Korea’s representative office in Frankfurt, recently joined his colleague Heungsoong Jung for a visit to the Bundesbank’s University of Applied Sciences, where they spoke with students about the global financial crisis, low interest rates and rapprochement between North and South Korea.

  • International week on central banking Monetary policy, regulation and banking supervision in the euro area

    In April, 46 international students from China, Belarus, Poland and Ukraine visited the Bundesbank’s University of Applied Sciences to learn about monetary policy, regulation and banking supervision in the euro area.

  • Eurosystem proceeds to next phase of digital euro project

    Two years have been spent exploring the possible design and distribution of a digital euro. Now, the Governing Council of the ECB is moving to the next phase of the project. This will lay the foundations for a potential digital euro. It will involve, amongst other things, finalising the digital euro rulebook and selecting providers that could develop a digital euro platform and infrastructure. However, a decision on whether to actually issue a digital euro will be made at a later date.

  • Conference on monetary unions in Buckingham

    Upon invitation by the Institute for International Monetary Research, Uwe Schollmeyer, a lecturer at the Bundesbank’s University of Applied Sciences, took part in a two-day conference on “The Economics of Monetary Unions: Past Experiences and the Eurozone”. The conference was held on 21 and 22 February 2019 at the University of Buckingham in the United Kingdom.

  • Hachenburg lecturers teaching abroad

    For over 15 years now, the Bundesbank’s University of Applied Sciences in Hachenburg has been cooperating closely with the PBC School of Finance in Peking. This year, three Hachenburg professors once again held lectures for masters students on issues related to European economic and monetary policy integration and to banking supervision.
