From 30 June to 11 July 2025, ten students form the Bundesbank’s University of Applied Sciences had the opportunity to participate in the “Financial Leaders of Tomorrow” summer school of the PBC School of Finance at Tsinghua University in Beijing. The aim of this programme was to impart extensive knowledge about China’s financial sector and, at the same time, about China’s culture. In addition to lectures by renowned professors from the university, the programme consisted of various cultural activities. These included a trip to the Great Wall of China, a martial arts workshop and an introduction to Chinese paper cutting. The nationalities of all the participants – totalling over 20 – were presented as part of a “Cultural Night” with traditional clothing, dances, typical food and much more. During the summer school, a strong community of students from all over the world was established. They were able to learn from and with one another in Beijing and will certainly stay in touch beyond the programme, too.
